BMC has truly been a huge blessing from God to me through the convener, Fikewa Dixon, and the amazing community of mothers. Through prayer sessions, discussions, and guidance on motherhood and family life, my spiritual life and relationship with God have grown deeply.
This platform has helped me realize that I cannot do life without Jesus, and it has strengthened me to become all that God wants me to be as a mother, a wife, and a believer.
I joined BMC during a very difficult time when I was battling postnatal depression. It was overwhelming, but hearing other mothers share their experiences helped me heal and find strength again. The support I received spiritually, emotionally, and even financially from the women in this community lifted me at my lowest.

The program started when I was at my lowest; from navigating a long parental leave, to returning to a job I wasn’t so thrilled about. I was confused, burnt out and without direction. From the first meeting, however, I got an uplift in my spirit. My mentor was who I needed and it was clear our meeting was divinely orchestrated. She literally ‘carried me on her back’ for the 8 weeks and I’m always grateful for our encounters. Apart from the intent of the mentorship program, I was richly fed spiritually as well. God bless the organizers, and all mentors, who poured into us.

The Pitch Workshop and Competition was an absolute game-changer for us! As an educator in the EdTech and STEM Education space, our core focus is creating innovative learning aids—like our specialized math cards designed to bridge critical learning gaps for children.
Before the program, our biggest challenge was translating the deep educational value of our maths cards into a concise, high-impact business pitch. The workshop provided incredible clarity, helping us structure our presentation, highlight our market potential, and confidently articulate our vision.
The strategy we developed during the program works: we placed in the Top 2 and won a ₦150,000 grant last week!
This recognition means the world to us, and the funds will be deployed immediately to scale our impact. Specifically, we will be using the ₦150,000 to:
- Fund mass production of the math challenge cards to reduce unit costs.
- Improve packaging and material quality so the cards are durable for classroom and home use.
-Subsidize distribution to reach underserved communities and local schools, ensuring no child is left behind.

The BMC Pitch Workshop helped us identify key gaps in our operations and highlighted opportunities for growth, particularly in areas regarding funding and how to effectively apply for grants and pitch to investors. It also improved our ability to clearly communicate our value proposition and long-term vision.
Arywell Foods is a child nutrition brand that produces natural cereal blends for young children, with a focus on providing safer, affordable, and nourishing options for growing families. So, winning the ₦250,000 grant for first position enabled us purchase a 500g grinder and a manual coding machine, which has strengthened our production process and enhanced our product labelling. We are also investing the remaining funds in digital marketing to expand our reach and increase brand awareness.
We are grateful for the support and exposure the program provided, and we are excited about the future growth opportunities it has helped us unlock.
